We all know #momlife can get a little crazy when the kids are out of school for summer. Suddenly all your well-oiled routines and perfectly perfected systems are now null and void.
Sleep schedules are off. Gym schedules are off. Kids schedules are off or wildly different.
I don’t know about you, but I feel like the Mom-Taxi (aka me!) has been working overtime trying to get my kids to all their summer activities.

At the beginning of the summer, our schedules were jammed packed with new activities that required a lot of pre-packing and preparation from me. (Our agenda: early am swim team then all day outdoor camp—there was a lot of stuff to pack up: towels, bathing suits, goggles, lotions, changes of clothes, lunches, snacks, etc).
Which left me, Mom-taxi extraordinaire with little time for breakfast—I’d get home mid morning staaaarving and h’angry, then snack in the kitchen while I tried to decide if I should make breakfast or lunch since it was only 10:30. Not my best morning moment.

My experience on the Activia Two Week Challenge
This challenge was great because it forced me to RESET and THINK about what I was DOING. Instead of running out the door in a stressed-out mess—I would stop, grab my yogurt and eat it while my girls were eating or take it with me and eat it at swim practice.
Then later in the afternoon, instead of grazing in the kitchen before I ran out the door to pick up my girls, I’d sit down, relax, regroup and enjoy another yogurt. This ended up being the perfect solution to my new crazy schedule.

What I bought and how I used it to reclaim my balance
I set out to Walmart to pick up my supplies. They have a really large selection of Activia found easily in the Dairy department.
Honestly, I hadn’t had Activia in a long time. I didn’t even know they had a Greek yogurt version, so I was really excited when I saw that.
I decided to try a little bit of everything.
I knew the Activia Probiotic Dailies (yogurt drinks) would be great on busy mornings! And let me tell you, they really were. I’d pack one in my bag and take it with me then drink it while my girls were at swim team practice.

I, of course, got some Greek yogurt because that style is my favorite. Greek yogurt is usually thicker and packed with more protein. I ate these in the morning along with my coffee and a banana or protein muffin, if I had a few minutes before we headed off to camp.
Then again in the late afternoon, I’d grab a regular container. It gave me a nice boost of energy and filled me up as I set sail on afternoon pickup across town. Healthy Living Tips to help reclaim Your BALANCE DURING UNBALANCED TIMES This Summer
- Pack portable items with you to eat at your destination on those crazy days

- Pack everything the night before. This includes your kids’ bags and lunches but also a bag for you (whether it’s a gym bag, work bag, or even just a bag with healthy snacks—remember to take care of yourself too!)
- Get a wet-bag for wet bathing suits
- Use spray sunblock. But don’t forget to rub it in!
- Use stick sunblock for your kids’ faces for super-fast, full-coverage application.
- Fit yourself into your kids’ new summer schedule. Don’t let your new schedule unbalance your life. Make sure you still schedule in time for the gym or even time for self care (mani/pedi, massage, or even just reading). And pack healthy snacks like Activia yogurt.
