Pink snowcones are never a good idea, even when wearing a pink dress.
Last month, we attended the Disney Junior’s Doc McStuffin Experience event at Centennial Olympic Park. During the past year, as my poor little three year old has had to watch me come home from daily doctor’s appointments, covered in Bandaids, to treat my “big boohbooh,” she has really developed an affinity for Disney’s Doc McStuffins. For those of you without toddlers, Doc is a little girl who plays doctor and takes care of her toys when they get sick or injured (ie: broken).
As we waited in line to meet Doc, the heat started getting to us and we decided to let the girls partake in snow cones. Of course, they had to have the pink flavor. I tried for easy-to-clean “coconut” but no one wanted plain, boring “white.” So, against my better judgement, I let my daughters have bright pink snow cones, while wearing really nice sundresses. I talked myself into thinking “it won’t be that bad–they’re wearing pink, even if it drips, it’ll blend in.” Right, sure it will.
My 3 year old did surprisingly well. My 21 year old–not so much. The poor thing spilled her snow cone everywhere and then cried from the fear of frost bite and sheer messiness. Until that point she was in pure pink, icy, snow cone heaven, which made the 2 days of OxiClean soaking and scrubbing totally worth it.
