What I’m Toasting This Week:
This week I’m excited to toast my kids’ clean play room.
This has been a 3 week process in the making! I literally took everything apart then sorted and organized everything. Stay tuned for my upcoming post on how I tamed the toy clutter.
Here’s a sneak peak that you may have seen on Instagram. We were very excited to once again see our floor.
(BTW-Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for extra content and exciting IG story video.)
I’m also toasting big birthday celebrations with friends.
This past weekend I attended a good friend’s birthday party at Negril Village, a caribbean restaurant in mid-town Atlanta.
Located in a refurbished 1907 firehouse, Negril Village is a fun place to enjoy wonderful Caribbean cuisine or just sit back with some cocktails and people-watch.
And people-watch we did. We spotted Kenya Moore from Real Housewives of Atlanta. I couldn’t resist going over and saying hello. I told her how fabulous she was and that she looked even better in person. Which is true–I know she often gets a bad rap on the show, but I like to think she’s just misunderstood, and she does have a painful past. By the way, she seriously did look amazing in person. I didn’t ask for a selfie because I didn’t want to be cheezy– I do have a teeny bit of sophistication (yeah right, haha).
During the party, we tried the shrimp and grits (absolutely delicious), jerk chicken (which was incredibly spicy), an amazing cabbage dish (which I was super excited about), and a great bean rice dish. My husband also tried the ox tail, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Caribbean Cocktails at Negril Village
My favorite part was the cocktails. I tried the Hibiscus Margarita and House Punch. I’d highly recommend both. They were equally wonderful.
The Hibiscus Margarita has El Jimador tequila, spiced sorrel, lime & a cinnamon salt spiced rim. It’s light and refreshing. And the cinnamon salt rim was a wonderful addition–it really added another level of flavor to the drink.
The Village Island Punch was fantastic. I have no idea what was in it. It’s a secret family recipe! But I can tell you that it’s made with fresh squeezed tropical juice and Wray and Nephew rum. Very simple, light, with a nice kick. No thick sugar based artificial flavors–just pure simple ingredients. Perfect!
Let’s Toast You!
