The Holiday Ruby Slipper Cocktail
This refreshing cranberry and prosecco cocktail is bubbly and fun, perfect for holiday parties! Bonus-you can easily make a big batch of it ahead of time and have ready to serve as soon as your guests arrive!
Ahhh, the holidays….time for visiting with family and friends…sitting by the fire, eating yummy food, listening to cheerful holiday music, laughing with merriment, and watching TV. You know, all those classic things. Wait, did I just say TV? OH, I guess I did, because when you’re obsessed with television, that’s what you do. You plan parties around big TV events like NBC’s revamp of The Wiz!
Last week, we gathered with some friends to watch the remake of the 1978 classic The Wiz! It was a very impromptu gathering so we didn’t have any Pinterest-inspired decorations, table decor, or activities–instead we just sang and danced to our favorite songs and sat in awe of the amazing costume designs and stage decor. I did, however, take the opportunity to test out a new cocktail recipe I had been working on and in honor of the Wiz, we named it “The Holiday Ruby Slipper.”
This super, easy to make cocktail was smash hit (just like Wiz). It’s great for parties because you can easily make a big batch of it, pour into a pitcher and have ready to serve when your guests arrive!
Ingredients:
Cranberry Juice
Fresh cranberries (I pre-froze mine so they would act as ice cubes).
Prosecco (chilled)
OPTIONAL: colored sugar crystal sprinkles
Recipe:
(Optional) Wet the top of the glass. Pour some sugar crystal sprinkles onto a plate then rub the rim of the glass (face down) on the plate so it becomes covered in beautiful sparkly holiday color.
Combine 4 parts prosecco to 2 parts cranberry juice. Then add a few cranberries as garnish. Enjoy!
I told you it was easy right? But it tastes great-super refreshing and light yet fun and bubbly!
