Why You Need to Visit Seasons 52 Buckhead Today
Recently, I was invited to a #hosted dinner at Seasons 52 Buckhead. Seasons 52 is based on the idea of fresh ingredients inspired by the season grilled to perfection on the rustic wood fired oven. Check out my pro tips to get more bang for your buck and my honest opinion on the dishes that I tried.
Disclosure: We received complimentary dinner by Seasons 52. All opinions are my own.
Recently, I was invited to dinner with some fabulous Atlanta blogger friends Cassandra from The Chef in Pearls and Rochelle from The Culinary Vegg Out. It’s great to be able to catch up with friends in your industry, especially when top notch food and creative cocktails are involved.
Our dinner was hosted by Seasons 52 in Buckhead (Atlanta). Even if you do not live in Atlanta, Sesaons 52 has locations throughout the US. In fact, this was my first time visiting my local location. Previously, I had always gone to the one in Maryland as it’s my parents’ favorite restaurant.
Seasons 52 is based on the idea of seasonally inspired dishes served at their peak of freshness. The wood fired grill takes center stage in not only the rustic dishes but also lends a cozy warmth to this upscale restaurant.
Seasons 52 Buckhead Restaurant Review
The Seasons 52 in Buckhead is located in Stanford Plaza. Parking is in the back.
I HIGHLY recommend doing valet! Seasons 52 will validate your ticket so the final cost is only $2.
We ordered two appetizers to share, a cocktail, an entrée, and dessert.
As a self-proclaimed mixologist, I was very curious to try out some of the amazing cocktails, so we were treated to a wonderful sampling of some of the head bartender’s favorites. Check back on Tuesday for the full story.
Our First Course
BUFFALO SPINACH & BRUSSELS SPROUTS DIP featuring Gorgonzola crumbles and Applewood bacon
This gooey cheezy boat of veggie deliciousness was fantastic. Inspired by the classic spinach and artichoke dip, Seasons 52 replaces the artichokes with Brussels Sprouts and I have to say it was fantastic. They were so tender, you almost couldn’t tell the difference. Also, the Buffalo flavor gave it a nice kick but was not overpowering.
I really liked this dish, I thought it was fun, clever, and a great take on an American favorite.
I will say that not everyone at my table agreed…one of my dinner companions felt the gargonzola was a bit over powering, but I rather enjoyed the gargonzola. So you might want to keep that in mind if you’re not a fan of that particular cheese.
Also, the seeded crackers that are served with it are crisp, light and flavorful-a great pairing.
LUMP CRAB, ROASTED SHRIMP & SPINACH STUFFED MUSHROOMS (with panko crust)
This delightful appetizer made this native Maryland girl very happy. I have to say I was very impressed with the fresh crab and shrimp. The mushrooms are stuffed with spinach and then topped with the crab and grilled shrimp. It’s a wonderful combination of fresh flavors that keeps you wanting more.
ROASTED ROMA TOMATO (with mozzarella, Parmesan, basil)
I feel like the flatbreads are a specialty of Seasons 52. I don’t think I’ve ever NOT gotten a flatbread of some kind. Made in the wood fired grill, they’re light, fresh and full of flavor. They’re also available with gluten free crust.
Main Course
We each ordered an entrée and then tried a bite of everyone’s dish.
I ordered the scallops.
CARAMELIZED GRILLED SEA SCALLOPS
Grilled on the wood fire, they have a light smokiness and are absolutely amazing!!!! It comes with 6 scallops and is served over a leek and butternut squash risotto which was just mouthwatering. Mmmmmm….. And a side of broccolini, which was tender yet still crunchy.
Pro Tip!
If you’d like to try the sea scallops, but aren’t ready for the $24 commitment of this entrée, visit during the Happy Hour where you can get 3 of these beautiful babies for only $5. (Now, the happy hour dish does not come with the amazing butternut risotto but it’s a good place to try the scallops).
WOOD-GRILLED BONELESS RAINBOW TROUT
Rochelle got the trout and I have to say I was very impressed. It was absolutely amazing. The wood fired grill really enhances the flavor and makes it a delicious rustic dish.

Boneless Beef Short Ribs
The Chef in Pearls ordered Boneless Beef Short Ribs which are slow braised and absolutely wonderful. They’re served with stoned ground cheddar grits and heritage carrots.
We also ordered a side of the…
TRUFFLE “MAC ‘N’ CHEESE”
This indulgent dish was totally worth a New Year’s resolution slide. Made with cave-aged Gruyère, cheddar, roasted mushrooms, panko crust; it’s totally worth the calories. But all is not lost—it does have cauliflower purè so that has to count for something. Right? <wink, wink>
And last but DEFINITELY NOT LEAST…
Dessert
Seasons 52 is famous for their small dessert cups. And don’t be fooled by their size—these little tiny cups of dessert decadence pack a mighty punch!
There really is something for everyone and something for every mood.
Don’t miss the Seasons 52 Specials
Happy Hour
You really can’t pass up the Seasons 52 Happy Hour. They have an amazing variety of small plates all available for only $5! I think I’ve seriously tried every single one (over the years), and they’re all fantastic. Again-this is where you can try the amazing Carmelized Sea Scallops.
Also, depending on where you live, some Seasons 52 locations have drink specials. For example, the one in Columbia, Maryland has $7 cocktails, which is where I first tried the Cucumber Basil Smash. Unfortunately, due to local liquor laws, the Buckhead location is unable to provide cocktail specials, but as I mentioned above, they do still have the amazing $5 small plates selection.
Two Glasses of Wine and a Flatbread to Share
Another daily special is the two glasses of wine plus 1 flatbread. This is a great option for starting out your meal. You and your dining companion both get a glass of wine and then you can share one of the delicious flatbreads. Yum!
Valentine’s Day Specials
Lastly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the fabulous Valentine special that’s coming up. This year, Seasons 52 is featuring a special $30 prix fixe menu featuring a starter, entrée, and dessert. (See their website for more details). But the BEST part is it runs from February 11- 13, so if you don’t want to deal with the crowds of Valentine’s Day, you have 3 different nights to choose from!
Thank you again to good folks at Seasons 52 Buckhead. We had an amazing evening.
