The first Toasting Tuesdays post is here. My goal of Toasting Tuesdays is to carve…
Toasting Tuesdays-9.28.14
Welcome to another Toasting Tuesdays where we gather around the table for some great wine, girl talk, and toasts! This week I’m imagining us all around the table at a cute outdoor cafe. Maybe we’re savoring the sips of a late summer sangria. The mornings are starting off cool, but as the sun rises in the sky, it’s still warm enough for a refreshing chilled wine. How was everyone’s week? Any exciting things of note? Any big #wins in the chaotic world of motherhood?
Here’s what I’m toasting today!
Wine:
I love Aubrey’s, from High Heeled Love.com, monthly Wino Wednesdays linkup. Check out the latest edition by clicking her badge below. Each month, she combs through the social media wine world and shares the best of the best. This month, she shares hilarious wine memes and products as well as a very interesting wine/wellness article from The Atlantic.
Women:
This week I’d like to salute Holly Bertone. Holly is a fellow breast cancer survivor who founded Pink Fortitude and The Coconut Head’s Survival Guide website. A published author, she works to help others battling breast cancer and help support fellow survivors. In anticipation of October and Breast Cancer Awareness month, Holly has lots of great events planned on her website-some have already started-so be sure to check out her events page.
Wellness:
I’m excited about my new discovery from Whole Foods–The 4 for $4 salad special. The 4 for $4 salad special allows you to choose 4 salads from the low fat, power food, vegan menu. Now, of course, as I write this, I’m regretting the fact that I did not take a picture of my salad 4 pack so I will describe it as best I can. I chose the cauliflower couscous, which did not actually have couscous-instead it was finely chopped cauliflower made to look like couscous. It was well seasoned with fresh mediterranean style herbs and was absolutely delicious. I also tried two kale salads that did not disappoint and lastly I had a great fall inspired squash salad. The portions were big enough for two meals-an exciting and surprising value from a place often referred to as Whole Pay Check. Be sure to check it out!
#Wins:
Did you catch the season finale of Dallas?! OMG! Loved it! I did not know what to expect when the previews teased about a “Ewing will die!” And I was shocked that it wasn’t that wet noodle Ann. I know most people DVR their shows so I won’t give anything away, but I was impressed that the ending was a bit shocking. I’m hoping we’ll find out the character that seems to have been killed off actually survives. Guess we’ll have to just wait until next season. Oh the suspense!
I’d love to hear what you’re toasting. Leave your toasts or comments below! Have a great week!
