Score a Touchdown with these Easy Game Day Decor Party Tips
Looking for fun and easy ways to decorate for the Big Football game? I’m sharing my top tips on how to easily create a festive Game Day party atmosphere using many things that you already have around the house or can easily buy last minute at Target. The great thing about these tips is that all of these items can be reused again and again.
This week I had the exciting opportunity to share some fun Big Game football party tips for Fox 31 Denver.
(By the Way—make sure you’re following me on Instagram! I often post lots of fun behind the scenes Instastories).
In addition to some yummy food options, I needed to bring festive football décor.
To my dismay, I couldn’t find anything anywhere!
(We’re super far from any party supply stores, so I had to look elsewhere. )
Nothing at the grocery stores. Nothing at Michaels, Target. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
So, I had to get CREATIVE.
It actually turned out really nicely. And was not only easy but fun to put together.
Top tips for Easy and Creative Football Party Décor
Use Chalkboard signs to set the tone
Chalkboard signs are great because you buy them once and can use them over and over again.
This one came without a flat bottom—it has a “stake” design, so I put it in festive vase with team colors.
Be careful when choosing your Chalk Pen. Be sure to make sure it is water erasable. You can find them easily at Michaels or on Amazon.
Grab a flower vase or mason jar and fill it with festive floral décor marbles with your team’s colors.
This is nice because you can use something that you most likely have lying around the house.
You can find the floral marbles at Dollar Tree or Michaels.
When your party’s over, save them for next year, or use it year round by adding silk flowers.
Use photo booth sticks for tablescape décor.
I really like this idea because it serves a dual purpose.
It’s Form Meets Function.
The photo booth sticks can be decorative as well as used for fun selfies during the party.
And by placing them in the vase, it not only adds another decorative element but it also keeps them contained (instead of scattered on a table).
Use small chalk board signs to label the food.
I got these cute little signs at Target. I thought they were perfect to label the food.
You can also use them to denote food sensitivities or if the food is allergy friendly, etc.
Don’t be afraid to just use Team Colors
If you’re having trouble finding specifically want you, just use fun team colors.
I couldn’t find any Chiefs or San Francisco paraphernalia since we live in Denver, so I just incorporated the team colors into my décor.
I used red and gold throughout my tablescape.
Check out the birthday party section to find sports related décor.
I found a grass turf tablecloth and the sport-related photo booth props in the birthday party section of Target.
Use a table cloth for your photo booth background.
They’re often cheaper than official photo booth backdrops.
