Summer Games Inspired Waffle Torch-a healthy Peach & Yogurt Snack
These super easy summer games inspired waffle torch peach and yogurt snacks are a healthy, kid-friendly fun-food that will spark joy in champions of all ages-including moms!
One of the great things about being a blogger is coming across great ideas from your blogger friends. I recently found these super adorable Summer Games Snack Torches from my friend Susie who blogs at Twitchetts.com and decided I must make them!
I was struck by the beauty of the peaches–I had never realized how much the inside actually looks like fire!
It totally does, right?
Fortunately, my husband had just bought some amazing Georgia Peaches the day before. Perfect timing!
Side note: Did you know this is a remarkable peach season? In a recent interview I did with renowned Chef Zeb, he told me that because of the weather conditions this past winter, this year’s peach harvest is the sweetest in decades! Here’s a picture from his IG feed of a special peach dish he created for The Watershed.
Sorry–I digress. So I headed to the store to get some ice cream, yogurt, and cones to make some super fun summer games torches with the kids and as luck would have it, the grocery store was doing a fruit salad demo with this great dried basil so I added that to the cart too.
The benefit of this basil is that it’s lightly dried so it will last in your fridge 30 days after you open it (Umm, awesome!) and has a fresher taste than the usual dried basil that you get in a spice jar.
The basil is definitely the secret weapon of this fun, healthy snack. #recipes #kid-friendly Share on XThere’s something absolutely magical that happens when mixed with the yogurt and then eaten with the peaches.
It’s literally mind-blowing.
A treat for your senses.
Forget high-fives. You’re gonna wanna give yourself your own secret Gold Medal for making such a fancy tasting (and yet ridiculously easy) snack.
OK, enough already, right? Let’s get to the recipe!
Healthy Summer Games Waffle Torch Yogurt Snacks
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain 0% Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (to sweeten yogurt)
- Note-If you use vanilla yogurt, you can skip the maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons lightly dried basil
- 2 ice cream cones
- peaches
Let’s Make this summer games waffle Torch Snack
- Mix the yogurt and maple syrup in a bowl.
- Add in the lightly dried basil.
- Set aside.
- Slice a couple peaches. Cut them carefully so you can see the red coloring which appears in the section closest to the pit.
Assemble the Torch
Lay out all the ingredients so it’s easy for the kiddos to create the torches themselves.
(My kids thought this was sooo much fun!)
Take the ice cream cones and fill with 1/2 cup of yogurt then top with the peaches and dig in!
It’s fun to dip the peaches in the basil-filled yogurt. Enjoy!

You can also prepare this with ice cream as a dessert or whipped cream (like Susie from The Twitchetts).
Or you can just start eating everything as a torch like my older daughter has started doing.
Either way–this is a super fun snack that everyone is sure to love. If you try it, be sure to let me know how it went! Leave me a comment below.
