Kid-approved Vegan Chocolate Pudding
The dreaded stomach bug attacked our house this weekend! ughh Some of us had full on stomach flu (with all the dreaded symptoms that I won’t mention) and other’s just had a really bad stomach ache. Luckily, I was the latter and was able to hold down the fort. phew! So I decided to shake up the traditional (doctor recommended for stomach flu) BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) and make a batch of Vegan Chocolate (Banana/Avocado) Pudding. And it turned out to be just what the doctor ordered!
Chock full of avocados and bananas, the pudding was a power dish of important nutrients to help our bodies regain strength and fight that stomach bug. It was also very mild and easy on our stomachs and kid-approved!
The Recipe:
1 Part Banana
1 Part Avocado
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 tablespoon cacao powder
2 tablespoons coconut oil
If using a blender, add a splash of coconut milk to help it blend.
Peel avocado and bananas then add to the blender. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until fully mixed and smooth. Then enjoy this extremely rich, super chocolatey, and…dare I say…uber healthy pudding! Yum!!
*Note: You can always add more cacao powder or more honey to taste. Just sample a little from the blender. If you need to make adjustments-go ahead. 🙂
I found this recipe to be much richer and chocolatey than others I’ve tried that use soy milk and tofu. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Leave me a comment below.

I can’t wait to try this recipe this weekend with my daughter. We both love all things banana and chocolate and it’s healthy!!
Thanks! Yes, i hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by.
This sounds delish! We make a simple chocolate mousse with just avocado, cocoa, and maple syrup (because technically honey isn’t vegan), and it’s one of my favorite things! I’ll have to try adding banana next time!
OMG! You’re totally right! I should’ve typed “maple syrup” not “honey.” OK, I just corrected that. I’ve made it both ways and was not even thinking about honey not being vegan when I wrote this. Thanks for the correction! Yes–definitely try it with banana–it was wonderful. 🙂
cheers!
