Think Pink Front Porch Decor to Help you Believe in a Cure
This year, I decided to go All Pink for October in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The result was a fun and festive front porch decor that will help you Believe in a Cure.

As you may recall, I decided to go Pink this October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a breast cancer survivor, I understand first hand the power of pink and the difference it makes in everyone’s lives (from hope for patients, to money for research and medicine breakthroughs to a cure), and that’s why my personal theme this year is Believe in a Cure.
Admittedly, I bit off more than I could chew this past month—jumping headfirst into all things pink. I developed a giant master plan with a million different kinds of decorations.
In the end, I ended up with a Pink Ribbon Wreath (made from pink mesh), a Unicorn pumpkin, some pink pumpkins, and a pink topiary. I’m extremely proud of my pink topiary. It ended up being the easiest thing to create and came out really well.

Lesson learned #1: —don’t take on too much or it will take away all the fun!
And Fall is all about Fun, right?
Lesson 2: Use permanent materials.
If you’re going to spend time making elaborate décor, make sure you use material that will last year after year and not decompose in a couple weeks. For example, decorate plastic pumpkins instead of real ones.

Now let’s break down all the elements.
Originally, I had envisioned pink lanterns, and lights and a lot of other little things, but in the end, the lanterns ripped (lesson learned #3-Don’t buy cheap paper lanterns from the dollar store!) and I ran out of time for any other elements.
But all in all, I think it came out pretty well.
So here’s what I created for my Think Pink Front Porch Decor:
Believe in a Cure Pink Pumpkin Topiary
This was by far my favorite project. It was pretty simple to create and only cost a few dollars. The pumpkins were each $1 and I used supplies I had around the house for the rest. To get the full instructions, read my post here.
Pink Ribbon Wreath
This project was a little tricky because of the material. Mesh ribbon can be a challenge. But in the end, I think it turned out pretty well. And if you’re good at crafting or have experience working with Mesh Ribbon, yours will turn out even better!

Pink Unicorn Pumpkins
This is a great craft idea that I got from Michael’s. My girls were very excited about it. And since I used a craft pumpkin, we’ll be able to bring it out again next year! Read my post with all the instructions, here!
Front Yard Ghosts
Lastly, I brought out an old tradition from my childhood–leaf bag ghosts. Even though I said I didn’t want to do anything spooky, I couldn’t resist. We even got some friends involved and had a super fun time. (Don’t miss our YouTube video of all the fun!) We decorated, cleaned up leaves, and truly celebrated Fall. For all my tips and tricks on this super easy project, read my post here.
I hope these ideas help inspire you to Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Remember to keep Believing in a Cure and…
