My Go-To Green Smoothie Recipe
I love drinking healthy smoothies for breakfast, especially green smoothies because it’s an easy way to get a good heaping dose of raw veggie vitamins first thing in the morning.
Sometimes I use coconut milk or almond milk and get extra protein through rice protein powder. My favorite recipe for this method is my Dr. Oz-Inspired Green Power Smoothie.
However, this past year I’ve been doing a cultured-milk based smoothie with homemade kefir.
I love this kefir smoothie because it has a creamy, yogurt consistency, it’s packed with protein, and it has natural probiotics.
My Go-To Green Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup homemade kefir or 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 Banana
- 2 Tablespoons flax seed
- small colander or 1 large handful of fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
Recipe:
Add ingredients to blender in the order presented above. Blend until thick then enjoy!
