I love drinking healthy smoothies for breakfast, especially green smoothies because it's an easy way…
Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe
I tend to always make the same basic smoothie recipe–a Green Berry Kefir/Yogurt Smoothie. I have the steps down to a science, so it’s fast, easy, healthy, and delicious!
But I didn’t realize I was in a rut….until one day when my daughter asked…
“Mommy, why don’t we ever make any other flavors? I want to add pineapple! And apple! And beets and turnips! I saw turnips on TV.”
So I paused and realized, “Wow, she’s right. We do need some variety!”
So the next time I was at the store, I grabbed a bag of tropical frozen fruit mix. (I forgot to buy beets and I have no idea how turnips will taste so those ingredients will just have to be saved for a future smoothie and a future blog post.)
But for now, we changed it up to include the tropical mix and apples.
It turned out really well! The tropical flavors were so refreshing – I felt like I was on vacation – more importantly, they reminded me about the cardinal rule of cooking “Variety is the spice of life!”
