The wonderful thing about Zoo Atlanta is that there’s always something new to explore. Not only are they constantly building and growing, but there are also a lot of hidden gems that can easily be missed.
The Top 3 Hidden Gems at Zoo Atlanta
Hidden Gem #1: Feed the Animals
Did you know that you can feed the animals? Yes! You totally can…in the Bird Aviary or the Giraffe section, for UNDER $5.
Bird seed sticks are available for just $1, and giraffe food is available for $3. We haven’t fed the giraffes yet, but we have fed the birds and my girls LOVED it.
Hidden Gem #2: Zoo Keeper Talks
Zoo Keeper talks are FREE and super fun. My kids Love learning more in depth information about their favorite animals and these talks never disappoint. The zoo keepers are engaging and always patiently answer everyone’s questions. Sometimes the talks coincide with animal feedings which is always fun to watch.
Hidden Gem #3: Take in a Show
So often when one visits a place like the zoo, we’re so focused on seeing all the animals, that we forget to stop and rest. And with kids it’s important to remember to pace yourself. Watching a show is a great way to take a break while still having fun.
There are 2 different shows. And they’re both fantastic. (We’ve seen them both).
For the bird lover, check out “Fantastic Flights.” The birds soar over the audience and completely captivate your attention. Or for the overall animal lover, catch “Wonders of Wildlife: Animal Show” focusing on mammals, reptiles, and more.
