Our Inspiration for the Snowman Sasquatch Relay Race
One of the highlights of our summer was putting together a fun Bigfoot Party to celebrate our favorite summer reading book Judy Moody and Not Bummer Summer. I think the best part, aside from the Chocolate Bigfoot Slime, and the Vanilla Brownie Marble Bigfoot cake, was our Epic Bigfoot Race! It was sooo much fun.
I haven’t seen my kids laugh so hard and share so many smiles in months! Plus, they got all their energy out! Whoohoo!
It’s one of those fun party games that you kinda wish you could play all year round.
And actually…you can.
How to Create a Snowman Sasquatch Relay Race
The snowy version of the Bigfoot creature is the Sasquatch. So we took our Bigfoot feet and painted them white!
(To get directions on how to make your own Bigfoot feet, including a FREE Printable Template, visit the Bigfoot Race post.)
But we didn’t stop there. Oh no…
We took it up a notch!
To make it a little more festive, we grabbed three large marshmallows and skewered them onto a toothpick (aka Marshmallow Snowmen) and created a relay.
How to Create the Sasquatch Relay
Make a pair of Sasquatch Feet for each participant. Divide your group of Sasquatch kids into 2 teams and have them both line up. Give each team, 1 spoon and 1 Marshmallow Snowman (the 3 marshmallows skewered together).
The first person must balance the Marshmallow Snowman on the spoon while running or walking to an agreed upon point. Then they turn around and hand the spoon and Marshmallow Snowman to the next in line. (If someone drops the snowman, they must pick it up and continue. No official penalties are accrued—they just lose time as they have to pick up their marshmallow.) The first team to finish wins!
