My family loves tacos! They could eat tacos every night of the week.
But I Love Pizza!
“There’s gotta be a way to combine the two,” and I wistfully thought, then realized “Yes! A Taco Pizza!”
But I couldn’t stop there.
“What?! There’s more?” you ask?
“Yes!” I say! “Much more because this is….Choctoberfest!!!”
Last year, I discovered the magic of using chocolate in savory dishes.
I know this sounds odd if you’re not used to it. But just stay with me.
It’s pretty darn amazing…It just adds a deeper dimension to each layer of ingredients—like adding spices…
…the special ingredient in this Choco Taco pizza is the rich, dark chocolate from Divine Chocolate.
You won’t be disappointed and you, your family, and your taste buds will all thank me!

How to make Chocolate Taco Pizza
Quick and Healthy Chocolate Taco Pizza #Choctoberfest
This easy-to-make vegetarian chocolate taco pizza iskid-friendly and super yummy. It combines
all the favorite elements of a taco with pizza for a #TacoTuesday winner the whole family will love. It also has an extra special ingredient (rich dark chocolate) that takes every layer of flavor up a
notch. #sponsored
Ingredients
- Pre-made pizza dough and extra flour for rolling
- 1 can black beans
- 1 can fire roasted tomatoes
- 1-2 tsp chili powder
- ½-1 tsp cumin
- 3 Tbsp (or 6 squares) of Divine Chocolate 70% Cocoa Bittersweet Baking Chocolate bar
- 3 tsp Divine Chocolate coco powder
- 1 lb of your favorite plant-based meat replacement
- ½ pack (4 oz) of shredded cheese or vegan cheese (I used a mixed blend with mozzarella and cheddar)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1) Bake the Pizza Crust First—follow instructions
on the pizza dough. I rolled mine out, using a generous amount of flour, then I
laid it on my pizza stone and baked it for 10 minutes (be sure to cover the pizza stone with flour
so the bottom doesn’t stick).
2) While the pizza is cooking, brown your
plant-based meat alternative on the stove top.
Add 1 teaspoon chili powder, ½ teaspoon cumin, and 3 teaspoons of Divine
Cooa powder.
3) Saute for about 20 minutes, until all
ingredients are cooked through and flavors are well incorporated.
4) In another pan, saute the black beans and fire
roasted tomatoes. I usually add about
the same amount of spice as I use for my meat alternative, which is 1 teaspoon
chili powder, ½ teaspoon cumin. But you can use whatever you feel comfortable
with. Also, add in about 3 tablespoons
or 6 squares of the 70% Cocoa Bittersweet Baking Chocolate bar. Saute for about 20 minutes, until all
elements are well heated and incorporated.
5) Finally, take your pizza crust and layer on the
bean tomato sauce, then the plant-based meat alternative, and finally some cheese.
You can use vegan cheese or traditional cheese.
If you use traditional, try and use a cheddar blend that includes mozzarella
so it will melt better. Bake in the oven
for about 10 minutes.
6) Enjoy!

Mmmm Chocolate Taco Pizza…So Yummy! We couldn’t wait to dig in!!
As you can tell, my kids really enjoyed this pizza. They had NO IDEA there was a secret ingredient but kept saying “Mommy! This tastes really good. It tastes better than regular tacos.”
And that’s because the chocolate adds a robust layer of complexity that heightens the other flavors. Mmmm, it’s soo good!

Wow! Just wow! this looks fabulous. I was skeptical of chocolate in savory, but once I tried it I realized what I have been missing. It adds another layer of flavor, but not sweet like most Americans expect from anything chocolate.
