This classic Port Wine Cranberries recipe is not only super easy to make but also a joy to eat at your Thanksgiving dinner.
How To Make Classic Port Wine Cranberries
This is one of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes. Forget the canned version, this recipe will change the way you look at cranberries. The port wine adds a sweet and sophisticated flavor that explodes as the fresh cranberries pop in your mouth. It’s extremely easy to make, even for the non-culinary masters, like myself. Don’t worry, you cannot mess this up!
Ingredients:
1 cup ruby port wine
1 cup sugar
1 bag (12 oz) fresh cranberries
Instructions:
In a medium saucepan, combine the port wine and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat and stir ingredients.
Once the sugar has dissolved, add the cranberries. Keep stirring occasionally.
Lower the heat to medium and let the mixture simmer for about 15 minutes (or until the cranberries start to pop). Keep stirring it while it’s simmering.
Transfer to a baking dish and let it cool.
Then refrigerate for a few hours so it can set (or overnight) before serving.
