Trader Joe’s has a great version. You just plop ‘em in your mouth, and it’s cold, chocolatey-fruity goodness.
Much like the Chocolate Frozen Banana. mmmmm
With just 3 basic ingredients, I just had to try and make my own.
And it’s sooo easy. Perfect for parties, BBQ’s and especially hot summer afternoons!

What kind of Strawberries to use
When I was developing this recipe, I wasn’t sure which form of strawberry to use: Frozen, freeze-dried, or fresh.
If you’ve read any of my other Strawberry Dessert recipes, you’ll know I love using Freeze dried strawberries. They plump when you cook them and are always in season, so I definitely wanted to try them out.
I made different batches with each kind of strawberry.
The frozen strawberries were DEFINITELY THE BEST! Soo refreshing on a hot summer afternoon!
When you bite into these delicious Frozen Chocolate Strawberries, the cool chocolate immediately melts on your tongue but then the frozen strawberry center is still nice and cool. Mmm… sooo good! #SummerDessertWeek #dessertClick To Tweet
The freeze-dried strawberries and the fresh strawberries were good too, but the frozen strawberries were definitely much better.
How to Make Frozen Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bites
Special Tools: Candy mold or Ice Cube trays
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 ½ tablespoons 2 % milk
- About 1 cup of strawberries—depending on your freezer mold (you can slice and freeze your own or use frozen strawberries if they’ll fit in your mold).
- Fun Sprinkles (Jimmies work better than the glittery sanding sugar kind. The sanding sugar ones get lost in the chocolate.)
The basic ratio of chocolate to milk is 1 cup : 1 tablespoon. So, adjust it as necessary based on the size of your mold.
Steps
1) Prep the strawberries.
Slice them so they fit into your molds nicely then freeze for 30 minutes. If you have a deeper mold, then skip this step and use frozen strawberries.
2) Melt the chocolate and milk.
You can use a double boiler or just microwave it. Start at 30 seconds, mix, and then do another 30 seconds and mix, repeating the process until your chocolate is melted.
3) Take your mold and sprinkle in your jimmies (traditional sprinkles)
(When you pop the chocolate strawberries out, these sprinkles will be on the top.)
4) Next place your strawberries in the mold.
5) Finally, take a table spoon and spoon the melted chocolate over each strawberry filling all of the individual mold spaces.
6) Option: you can also so one last sprinkle of jimmies.
7) Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
8) Remove from freezer and Enjoy!
Your Kids will love them!!!!!
