Lemon Water–sounds like it could be the base to a whole menu of fabulously refreshing summer beverages, doesn’t it?
Mmm, I can taste it now.
Maybe add some basil or pineapple sage or even strawberry (like this healthy non-alcoholic Strawberry Elixir) and then throw in some gin or vodka (Or Not…if you’re making a mocktail). But it’s more than that, much more!
In actuality, lemon water is really the key to starting your day off right!
It kickstarts your digestive process and cleanses your liver (which aids weight loss).
Sages have been recommending it for thousands of years. (At least that’s what my grandmother used to tell me, and Dr. Oz echoed that too in his explanation of why he included it in his Two Week Rapid Weight Loss Plan).
Side Note: This week, I began doing the Dr. Oz Two Week Rapid Weight Loss Plan again to try and get ready for summer. I previously did it for one week back in January before I went on vacation and even though I only did it for one week, I really did feel lighter, experienced more energy, and eliminated my cravings for sugar and carbs. I also really loved drinking this Green Smoothie while on the Weight Loss Plan.
So every morning so far this week, I’ve gotten up, boiled the water and added a half of a lemon to make hot lemon water (Super Simple!) I’ll stand there sipping it, watching the morning light get brighter and brighter, cascading through the trees in my back yard. I like to think about my grandmother, who used to always drink hot lemon water and would be very proud knowing I was doing something she tried to teach me, and then I smile and know it’s going to be a great day because I’m starting it off with something small to keep my body healthy.
